Garnet Jewellery

Garnet Jewellery is perfect and quite resistant to everyday wear, due to its excellent hardness. Garnet is legendary, timeless and mystical. Indulge yourself and you will fall in love with it.

Garnets were so called by the ancient Greeks, since the colour reminded them of the pomegranite seed, or granatum. They are made up of several different species of the mineral, based on their chemical formation. They are pyrope, almandine, spessarite, grossular, and andradite. Combined together they make up a red variety of the gemstone. Other varieties like uvarovite which is rare, yields a green garnet.

It is one of the world's most ancient gems, and  treasured for thousands of years. Use of garnets as gems is traced to the Nile Delta in 3100 B.C. Egytian artisans created beautiful garnet beads, bracelets and other jewellery. During the latter part of the 19th century, garnet bracelets and brooches were particularly popular.
