Abalone, Paua Shell and Swarovski Crystal Necklace

I have made this necklace using oval shaped Abalone beads 13 x 18mm. Plus Medium Vitrail coloured Swarovski Bicone crystals. It's length is 17 inches but I have also added a Sterling Silver Lobster clasp plus a 2 inch Sterling Silver extension chain.

Most Abalone comes from areas nearer the equator where these Sea Snails live in warm water. Fishermen capture them and the snails are eaten in restaurants but the shells are saved for all sorts of valuable purposes. These beads are natural.
