Ruby is the Birthstone for July and probably the most iconic coloured gemstone in the world, and its name will forever be linked with its striking, definitive colour. It is part of the Corundum family of gemstones, which also includes Sapphire, but Ruby is the only form of Corundum that does not fall under the Sapphire name.
