About Us

Welcome to my website.

I specialise in products made from Semi-precious gemstones and Freshwater Pearls.

Shoppers

For those of you that are interested in shopping for jewellery, all the items on this website are handmade by me (Lorraine). If you find something you like that is listed in an undesirable length then please do not hesitate to contact us to see if it can be done in the length you require as we may be happy to make it up especially for you, just use the 'contact us' form at the bottom of the page.

We like to display information about the Gemstones themselves like their origin and the healing powers of some stones as well as pointing out the traditional birth stones for each month.

Clasps and Earring Fittings Used on Products

Most of our findings (clasps and earring fittings) are .925 Sterling Silver with the occasional item that is 14 karat Gold filled which is 80% bronze and 20% 14 karat gold..  We are governed by EU regulations to make jewellery without the content of Nickel, as it has been proved that Nickel is the main metal that irritates the skin especially in areas of the body that have been pierced.  Lorraine therefore makes  all items of jewellery with Sterling Silver or Gold Filled and any bookmarks or Keyrings plus pendant necklaces will be made with Nickel Free Silver or Gold Plated metals.

The Gemstones

Unlike mass produced glass beads that are uniform in appearance,  the semi-precious gemstones can differ from one another  in shape, size and appearance slightly as they are formed naturally. The beads on product you receive may therefore sometimes appear marginally different to the ones pictured, however we would never sell an item that's beauty is comprimised by the shape of the bead.

Freshwater Pearls

Freshwater Pearls are cultured by the fishermen in freshwater lakes throughout the World.  They cultivate the pearls by placing small pieces of live tissue into Mussel shells where they continue to grow. Once harvested the pearls have adopted the colour of the inside of the shell they have grown in.

I very much hope you enjoy the experience of viewing my website and would welcome any feedback.
