Freshwater Pearls are cultured by the fishermen in freshwater lakes throughout the World.  They cultivate the pearls by placing small pieces of live tissue into Mussel shells where they continue to grow. Once harvested the pearls have adopted the colour of the inside of the shell they have grown in.

I have made this necklace to a standard length of 16.5 inches and added a Sterling Silver lobster clasp plus a 2 inch Sterling Silver extension chain so it can be worn slightly longer.The beads are Potato Shaped and around 7mm wide
