Abalone/Paua Shell & Swarovski Crystal Earrings

I have made these earrings using oval shaped Abalone beads 13 x 18mm. Plus Medium Vitrail coloured Swarovski Bicone crystals, and added them on to Sterling Silver hooks.

Most Abalone comes from areas nearer the equator where these Sea Snails live in warm water. Fishermen capture them and the snails are eaten in restaurants but the shells are saved for all sorts of valuable purposes. These beads are natural.
