Freshwater Pearls are cultured by the fishermen in freshwater  lakes throughout the World.  They cultivate the pearls by placing small pieces of live tissue into Mussel shells and Oyster shells where they continue to grow. Once harvested the pearls have adopted the colour of the inside of the shell they have grown in.

I have made this necklace using 10mm x 9mm Large White Freshwater Pearls to a length of 17 inches and added a 2 inch sterling silver extension chain so it can be worn up to 19 inches long. It has a large Sterling Silver Lobster Clasp and Ring to connect it.
